My Light
I was a shell. My will was iron, my resolve steel. For years I had built myself as a fortress, decorated with happiness and outer peace; all to guard the soft light I held within. I was content. Then she came.
To her, my will was malleable. My resolve became liquid. The fortress crumbled with the sigh of her breath, the song of her laugh, the touch of her kiss. And then there it was. She held the light in her hands. What I had spent a lifetime creating was undone in a matter of months.
And now she has it. She keeps it in her pocket, that light. She loves it. It keeps her company. She twirls it around like a toy. My beautiful light
